Skate Your Way Through the Holidays on The ICE
This Thanksgiving, you and your family can get your skate on at The ICE at Discovery Green. Every winter, this non-profit organization uses recycled water from Kinder Lake and transforms it into a 7,716 square-foot winter wonderland for skaters. Smaller children will love The ICE Box, a kiddie rink perfect for those 45” or less who are age four and younger.
The winter season begins with Frostival on November 22, the official opening of The ICE, as well as ‘Firmament’ and ‘Enchanted Promenade,’ two winter art installations. Frostival’s festivities will also include a live musical performance, dance and skating performances, and interactive ice sculptures. Tickets are available for purchase at the ice rink.
Powered by Green Mountain Energy Company, Discovery Green’s rink uses renewable energy for running the equipment, and the rink’s border is made from recycled plastics. One-on-one instruction is available. Advance reservations are required. Call (713) 434-RINK (7465) for details, or visit: www.discoverygreen.com/ice.
